Lesson from the Parable of the Mountain and Cursed Fig Tree!!!
Bloggers, not long ago I set out to find and collect whatever I could of my old public-school records dating from the first grade back in 1957. Personally, I had no one to help me at the Education Department here in San Marcos, Texas so I asked my daughter to see if she could find other resources on the Internet to help me acquire these records. So, she found a friend of hers in that Department and asked if she could track these records for me, and she did. When my daughter who is very intelligent and very fast at learning got a hold of my school records of mine, she laughed hard at me over the phone. She told me about how her and her friend laughed at one of my teachers in the second-grade comments about me and the teacher's observations about my habits at school. The teacher said that I was a very slow learner and that everything that I did in school was very slow. She said that I even moved slow and that at recess I even played slow. But the teacher said that she noticed that I could learn faster if I wanted to. And that is what was funny to my daughter and to her friend. And I busted out laughing to because my daughter said to me, "Dad, you were never a complete F student as you have told us in your stories before. These records prove that you were a B and C average kid despite your slowness. Well, I have come a long way in my learning abilities, but I am still slow. And as I study scriptures, I realize that my approach to learning about them has to be a slow learning process also. For me, I have to be analytical many times about scriptures but most logical as much as possible because God Himself calls Himself the Eternal Logos. Therefore, I try to approach the Word of God that way always. I understand that Logic has the appearance of being associated with Philosophy, however, Logic is a word and a construct therefore it is spirit before it is philosophy. And logic is spirit of truth, not a religion. Further, all words are spirit, and all words yield their own power. Thus, when I think of words today... as I have done before, I know they carry power because they come from God and the realm of Faith. And although I know about the power of words and their connection to faith, I still have a hard time at times grasping the Parables of Jesus Christ from the New Testament. And so, I give my attention to what does the whole parable or scripture entail, concerning an entire scenario or situation in context to a story. Therefore, in this process I have to do introspection of my own spiritual condition also and see whether there is something that is not aligning with God's Word or see if I have misunderstood something about such hard sayings of God. Let me talk to you about what I mean from the Parable of the Fig Tree for example just briefly. After reading this parable in Mark 11:22-26 I wanted to know what that saying was all about. From the start I knew what I needed to do to come to a full understanding of this entire story. First, I had to do serious research and praying because I saw many historical situations that I had no concept about and because I was not familiar with the cultures there and then, nor the histories. So, I took the time to study ancient histories and their religious beliefs then and now as well. And because I was like all human beings in the world running into one big problem or trouble after another none stop, I needed to know about how Jesus resolved these problems Himself as He faced them Himself. However, in this case history about Mark chapter 11 I wanted to know why He curse the Fig Tree that had no Fruit for Him even though the tree showed that by all appearances that it did have fruits. Well, I learned that that situation led Him to tell the disciples that in essence the Temple and Religion of the Jews had become all show and no Fruits and hence He cursed it for deceiving good people and being corrupt. Then after this He tells them the Parable of The Mountain and that how with Faith in God they could speak to their mountain or problems or troubles and cast them into the sea and the Mountain had to obey. Bloggers, do you know that that sometimes that Mountain will refuse and resist to be moved by a Christians command. Well, at times it will. But you have to be persistent in your faith because at time you will encounter that your mountain is operated by powerful demons or devils, or by Satan himself. However, do not give up and don't make adjustments or accommodations to live with your problem. Do not turn back or run away from your troubles either. God will give you the victory if you stay the course of Faith in God. One night a few years ago, I had a dream because I was worried that nothing was changing in my life, and I was failing at winning a fight against a family of Witches and their gang of Witches. And this night as I dreamed... I heard a Mexicans man's voice say to me, "Ruben, whatever you believe shall be." Well, isn't this what Jesus said in Mark 11:24? This is how the man said it in Spanish to me in that dream, Ruben, loque tu crees... se hara!" Then I dreamed that the gang had abandoned the family of witches and the family of 6 o 7 was now alone left to fighting and resisting to abandon their evil works against me. And a few nights ago, I dreamed the Witches house totally abandoned and silence filled the night. I never give up and refuse to back down especially when my God said to me that whatever I believe shall come to pass. Did you know that God cursed the Fig Tree, and I didn't. There are serious consequences to those who rebel against God Almighty and His Word. If those Witches that attack us do not leave us alone, they run the risk of losing everything that they have because they are obnoxiously obstinate. That is what I have learned about this parable in Mark 11:22-26. And moreover, I have learned that Christians need to be careful not to neglect introspection on oneself. Seek to find out also if we are hindering our Victory over that Mountain because as I have confessed before to you that anger is one of my biggest problems. And it is very hard for me to forgive the evil wrongs that these Witches have done against me. But the scripture clearly says to Forgive so that God will forgive us of our Sins. And then the Witches will melt away from our lives because we have not cursed them..., but they themselves have cursed themselves to ashes!!! Amen So Let Us Sleep On That for now and Thanks again. Respectfully, Ruben N. Gutierrez
